Philadelphia Eagles fans will finally get to see rookie cornerback Cooper DeJean in action.

DeJean revealed to reporters on Wednesday that the plan is for him to play in the Eagles' preseason finale against the Minnesota Vikings on Saturday afternoon.

It will be DeJean's first game that he's played since November of 2023.

That's because the Eagles' 2024 second-round pick missed the end of his final college football season due to a fractured fibula.

He then missed the Eagles' first two preseason matchups because of a hamstring injury that he suffered right before the start of NFL training camp.

Prior to dealing with an injury, DeJean had been adjusting well to the NFL and shining at spring practices. While it has been frustrating for DeJean to watch most of the training camp from the sidelines, he admitted that he had learned a lot more from simply watching and taking mental notes.

“As a football player and a competitor you want to be out there every single time the team gets a chance to compete,” DeJean said . “But I’ve been doing a lot of watching, which is a little frustrating but also helps me learn from a different perspective. I can watch film with the guys in the room and talk through things and learn that way as well.”

The Eagles do not have a set plan for how they're going to use his versatility just yet, but they have him learning nickel, corner, and safety. But we will be able to get a better feel for how they plan to use his versatility when he plays on Saturday.
