Dallas Cowboys fans have one less thing to worry about heading into the 2024 NFL season and that's starting right tackle Terence Steele .

Steele, who did not live up to expectations last fall after signing a five-year, $86.8 million extension , received some very encouraging words from head coach Mike McCarthy on Wednesday.

"I think he's had his best camp as a Dallas Cowboy," McCarthy said. "You can just see the things he continues to work on."

It certainly helps that the former 2020 undrafted free agent from Texas Tech has finally fully recovered from the ACL injury that he suffered in 2022.

"I was six months removed from surgery," Steele said. "I had some ups and downs but who doesn't coming back from injury as fast as I did. People my size usually don't come back that fast. I'm proud of myself for what I did. I didn't miss a snap, and didn't miss a practice.

"... I feel awesome … 100 percent healthy. I'm moving great … knee doesn't bother me at all. I'm just happy to be healthy and continue to stay that way."

It also helps that Steele is officially a well-season veteran entering his fifth NFL season and has learned a lot over the years.

Now with a lot more knowledge and experience under his belt, and his full health intact, he's ready to conquer and prove doubters wrong in 2024.

"Yeah, definitely. It's my fifth year now and every year is supposed to get better and better and better," Steele said in agreeance with McCarthy. "It just feels like I'm growing under this process. I definitely feel like it's my best camp for sure."
