Los Angeles Chargers players had to be rescued from a hotel elevator in Dallas on Friday night, the team said in a statement.

"At approximately 7:30 pm CT Friday evening, several players and members of the Chargers traveling party were stranded in an inoperable elevator at the team hotel. Dallas Fire-Rescue responded to the incident and subsequently assisted everyone from the elevator, one-by-one through its ceiling panel and into an adjacent elevator.

The Los Angeles Chargers thank Dallas Fire-Rescue for their quick response, professionalism and substantial efforts in ensuring everyone's safety," the team wrote in a statement on social media.

According to Fox 4 Dallas-Fort Worth , the elevator got stuck in a blind shaft and a technician attempted to get the elevator working again, but was not successful. This reportedly happened between the third and 15th floor.

That's when Dallas Fire-Rescue was called in and they got all 15 people out of the elevator safely through a ceiling panel.

The identity of the players involved has not been made public at this time.

The Chargers are in Dallas for their final preseason game against the Cowboys at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas at 4 p.m. ET on Saturday .
