North Carolina running back Omarion Hampton is one of the best playmakers in college football, and he'll be one of the first players at his position selected in the 2025 NFL Draft. He ranks fourth on our list for the draft entering this season. Apparently, the NFL isn't the only entity that was interested in prying Hampton away from North Carolina.

Hampton, who totaled 1,504 rushing yards, 222 receiving yards, and 16 touchdowns next to Drake Maye last year, should also be among the nation's top producers this fall. According to North Carolina head coach Mack Brown, Hampton had NIL offers as high as quadruple his current income at UNC.

Brown held a press conference before their game against Minnesota. He discussed roster updates and the revival of the tradition of Tar Heel helmet stickers. A standout moment was when Brown offered high praise for junior running back Omarion Hampton.

Hampton was praised not only for his academic and athletic dedication, particularly focusing on improving areas like pass protection and route running, but also for his remarkable loyalty. While Brown didn't specify any teams that Hampton received an offer from, we can assume it was powerhouses based on the potential numbers.

On3 has Hampton's NIL value around $610,000, so four times that would be nearly $2.5 million.

It is incredible that Omarion Hampton has chosen to stay with North Carolina. Brown emphasized that Hampton could have easily been a top pick for any program in the country, suggesting that other programs would not hesitate to replace their starting running backs to accommodate his talent.

Hampton is seen as an immediate asset for any team, known for his combination of speed and strength that could elevate any offense.

Hampton's commitment to North Carolina comes through his NIL agreement with Heels4Life, a collective that compensates players for certain public appearances and charitable efforts.

Given the financial limitations of the UNC football program compared to the hefty budgets of many SEC and B1G teams, securing a deal with Hampton, who hails from Clayton, North Carolina, feels akin to striking gold for the Tar Heel community.
