The Pittsburgh Steelers capped off their preseason with a thrid straight defeat against the Detroit Lions on Saturday.

Optimism was a little higher after the finale, however, with Pittsburgh's offense looking like a semblance of a professional outfit for the first time thus far .

But what was more impressive was the depth along the defensive line, with these three capping off a tremendous preseason on Saturday:

    EDGE Nick Herbig

The second-year pass rusher from Wisconsin headlines our list of defenders, as he has been lights out this preseason. Showing the bend, burst, and pure speed that enticed Pittsburgh in last year's draft, Herbig is developing at a rapid rate.

Adding mass to his frame and being a sponge in terms of information, having vets like T.J. Watt, Alex Highsmith, and even James Harrison (who made a cameo in training camp) have all paid dividends to his growth.

    NT Keeanu Benton

Benton was used sparingly as a rookie, but he is ready to be unleashed in full force in 2024. Manning the point as the nose tackle along the defensive line, not only will Benton be a run plugger, but plays like the one above prove how dominant of an interior pass rusher he can be.

    DE Larry Ogunjobi

Ogunjobi had a little bit of a down season in 2023, but it's hard to recall a time all year when he wasn't on the post-practice injury report. To this point, that has changed and Pittsburgh will be knocking on wood, hoping that his health stays the way it has been.

When firing on all cylinders, Ogunjobi is perhaps the most underrated member of the Steelers' front five and that's saying a lot when analyzing his camp and preseason performance.
