One of the biggest uncommitted recruits in the 2026 class repped the Tennessee Vols during his most recent game

The Tennessee Vols did some great work for their 2026 class with the commitment of #1 overall recruit Faizon Brandon earlier this month.  It appears as the Vols have the attention of another major 2026 recruit, and it's someone that their biggest 2025 recruit knows very well.

Providence Day School TE Kendre Harrison, a teammate of recent 2025 five-star tackle commit David Sanders, Jr., was spotted at his most recent game sporting a pair of gloves with the Vols' logo on it.  Sanders, who gave his pledge to the Vols back on August 17 , was also representing the Vols on his gloves.

247 Sports and On3 Sports both list Harrison as the #1 tight end in the country and a consensus top 20 recruit nationally.  Both sites list North Carolina as the current top team for his services, although On3 has Tennessee at number two right now.

It goes without saying that having Sanders coming to Knoxville one season ahead of Harrison should be a major advantage for Tennessee in recruiting Harrison.  The opportunity to continue literally playing shoulder to shoulder with his high school teammate would be present in Knoxville.

Heupel's explosive offense could also be more intriguing to tight ends, at least if what Tennessee insider Brent Hubbs said about the Vols potentially going to two tight ends sets more in 2024 is true.  Between Holden Staes, Ethan Davis, and Miles Kitselman, the Vols could see their tight ends involved in the passing game more in 2024 than they have in recent seasons.  That's never a bad thing if you're chasing down top-tier tight ends nationally.

But then again, if you have a tight end with this kind of athleticism, that'll probably make it easy to find a way to scheme him into the passing game every week.

There's still plenty of time for Heupel and his staff to work on Harrison, but it's clear that the Vols are already on his mind.  That's surely not a bad thing.
