The Lions should reunite with a former fifth-round pick to fill out their practice squad

The cuts are starting to fly around for the Detroit Lions, but there's one spot on this roster that seems pretty well figured out. That's the cornerback spot. While we don't know for sure yet, we're like 98% sure it will look like this on the 53-man roster by the end of Tuesday.

    1. Carlton Davis
    2. Terrion Arnold
    3. Amik Robertson
    4. Ennis Rakestraw
    5. Kindle Vidor
    6. Khalil Dorsey

That part was easy to figure out. The part that's hard to figure out is which cornerback, currently with the Lions, should make their practice squad. My honest answer is that none of them should. There is a major dip after Dorsey and sadly nobody looked very good during camp and the preseason.

So the Lions will have to look elsewhere for some cornerbacks on the practice squad. One avenue would be to bring back a familiar face that was with the team not too long ago.

We're talking about Amani Oruwariye. Look, his days of starting are over and it's been a while since he played a regular season game, but when he's played in the preseason, he's looked like a decent depth corner that can help out here and there when needed. That's really all the Lions need on the practice squad. A guy they can elevate in a pinch.

Oruwariye spent the summer with the Jaguars and had some decent looks in the preseason, but they released him on Tuesday. He was with the Giants last season and spent some time on their practice squad.

This isn't the only cornerback the Lions should add to their practice squad. They should be looking to add a few guys.
