Other teams may start going after one veteran player playing a key position that the Las Vegas Raiders just cut

The Las Vegas Raiders had a primary quarterback battle going on between Gardner Minshew and Aidan O'Connell -- obviously, Minshew won that, but they also had another battle going on. The battle for who would win the QB3 spot was real. It was either undrafted free agent rookie Carter Bradley or Nathan Peterman.

While there is still yet to be any word on Bradley, if he's on the 53-man roster or not, we do know that Peterman will not be, as he was released Tuesday.

Drafted by the Buffalo Bills in the fifth round of the 2017 NFL Draft, Peterman arrived with a reputation built on a solid college career at the University of Pittsburgh.

However, his professional debut in the NFL was bad. In what would become one of the most talked-about games in recent NFL history, Peterman started against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 11 of his rookie season. In this game, he threw five interceptions, setting an unfortunate record for the most interceptions by a quarterback in his first start. This performance not only defined his early career but also became a benchmark for quarterback struggles, often humorously referred to as "Peterman-ing" a game.

Despite this setback, Peterman's career didn't end there. He was traded to the Oakland Raiders in 2019, where he served as a backup, showing resilience by staying in the league despite his initial misstep. His journey took him back to Buffalo for a brief stint in 2020 before moving to the Tennessee Titans and then the Chicago Bears, primarily on practice squads.

In 2022, Peterman signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers, marking a symbolic return to where his football career began in college. Throughout his career, Peterman has been a testament to perseverance, navigating the NFL's cutthroat environment where opportunities are fleeting and often defined by one's ability to bounce back from failure.

Peterman has somehow found a way to stay in the NFL, despite him being a very bad quarterback, respectfully. Because of his ability to stay around, I have a feeling this won't be the last we hear about him signing on a practice squad. And, he does have experience, and he has experience as a starter and has been on a million different systems and offenses, that he can be of use there.

    It will happen, just watch.
