Cut-down day inevitably leads to some interesting names finding their way into the waiver pool.

For the Baltimore Ravens, improving on the margins is a must. And with some of the players available, that is now an opportunity.

Two players that immediately come to mind as prime targets following the dismissal from their previous teams are former first-round selection cornerback Caleb Farley and former Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Kadarius Toney.

    The case for Caleb Farley

Farley is a former first-round draft pick. Those types of players don't just fall out of a tree. Still, there are concerns.

Farley started just twice as injuries limited him to 12 games over his first two seasons. Farley had another back procedure in 2023.

The 25-year-old never played last season. The Titans kept him on the physically unable-to-perform list after his father was killed last August in an explosion that destroyed Farley’s home in North Carolina.

But despite all the concern, the talent is still there for the defensive back.

    What about Kadarius Toney?

In the NFL, having too much receiving help is far from a bad thing. For the Ravens, additional receivers can only help Lamar Jackson – even if it is the infamous Toney.

Injuries cut short Toney's first two seasons, and he was traded to the Chiefs during his second year with the Giants. The 25-year-old didn't consistently showcase his dynamic playmaking skills, but he did play a significant role in winning two Super Bowl rings with the Chiefs.

It should be noted, he struggled last season, was inactive from Week 15 through the playoffs and sat out when the Chiefs finished their repeat against San Francisco.

Still, he does look like an appealing option for Baltimore.
