Three players who were cut on Tuesday who should be on the Miami Dolphins' radar

The Miami Dolphins set their initial 53-man roster on Tuesday afternoon after completing their final round of cuts.

However, the Dolphins of course weren't the only team to do it, as the rest of the league was forced to make some tough choices in reaching the roster limit by the 4 pm ET deadline.

As such, there are a number of players floating around either on the waiver wire or as free agents who make sense for the Dolphins.  Here are three players such players who were cut on Tuesday.

    Noah Brown

Brown, a vested veteran, is free to sign with any team, and Dolphins general manager Chris Grier should have already made that call.  A seventh-round pick by the Dallas Cowboys in the 2017 NFL Draft, Brown has surged to roster relevance over the last two seasons.

He totaled 43 catches for 555 yards and 2 touchdowns for Dallas in 2022.  He followed that up with 33 catches for 567 yards and 3 touchdowns last year for the Houston Texans, posting a robust 17.2 yards per catch mark.

His size (6'2", 225 pound) and blocking ability are pluses as well, something that Miami could use to their advantage greatly in their outside running game.

    C.J. Beathard

Miami still needs to find a third quarterback after Mike White signed with the Buffalo Bills to join their practice squad. Beathard is perhaps the most experienced quarterback available after being released by the Jacksonville Jaguars.

He has a career mark of 340 of 563 passing (60.4%) for 3886 yards with 19 touchdowns and 14 interceptions in 32 career games with 13 starts.  Miami could use a steady hand at the position in the building after so much up and down with their two backups during camp and the preseason.

    Kadarius Toney

I know, I know.  Hear me out.

Toney's had issues both staying healthy and on the right side of his coaches' trust factor in Kansas City, or so it's seemed.  And if you can't succeed with Patrick Mahomes, that's pretty tough.

However, few that are on the list of cut players can do what Toney can as far as explosiveness and breakaway speed.  Put him in McDaniel's offense - who's clearly proven to prefer smaller/quicker wideouts in his scheme - and he could be a player who could make a significant jump back towards relevance in the league.  They just seem like a good fit together.

However, the question remains: is it worth the financial risk?  Since he's not a vested veteran, he's passing through waivers, meaning if a team claims him, they'll have to take on his $2.53 million in salary.  That might give plenty of teams, including Miami, some pause.  However, if no one claims him, he would then be free to negotiate with all teams.

A true gamble, but one with potentially significant upside for a Miami team with health concerns at wideout as the season begins.
