Ole Miss trying to flip elite five star recruit from Alabama and land future quarterback in big Week 1 visit weekend

Lane Kiffin has completely transformed the Ole Miss roster since joining on as the head coach back in 2020. He's mixed a blend of elite high school talent with back to back to back top tier transfer classes and the Rebels finally look ready to compete at the highest level. But Kiffin isn't done.

It might just be Week 1, but Ole Miss is starting their unofficial visit weekends off with a bang. The Rebels will reportedly host elite five star wide receiver recruit Caleb Cunningham, star quarterback Luke Fahey, defensive back Ladarian Clardy, and four star wide receiver Vance Spafford as they take on Furman Saturday.

All four players are huge recruits in the 2025 and 2026 recruiting classes. Cunningham is currently committed to Alabama, but is a big time priority flip candidate for Kiffin and Ole Miss.

All of the recruits Ole Miss is having in this weekend are important, but Caleb Cunningham (five star WR) and their potential quarterback of the future in Luke Fahey would be absolutely huge acquisitions if Lane Kiffin can get them.

Caleb Cunningham, Five Star Wide Receiver

Although Caleb Cunningham is currently committed to Kalen DeBoer he is from the state of Missisippi and continues to stack unofficial visits with the Rebels. This year alone Cunningham has visited with the rebels at least four times as his hometown sits less than 2 hours away from Oxford.

Cunningham has been considered a consensus five star wide receiver for over two years now. He brings with him elite proven production (over 1100 yards and 14 TDs last season), incredible track and field results, and has been a dominant basketball player throughout his high school career. Cunningham is a versatile athlete that should be a plug and play WR1 option wherever he lands, so having him in for yet another visit is a great thing.

Kiffin should be able to promise a decent amount of early opportunity in 2025 as a handful of the current Rebels' wide receivers will likely be gone after this season.

    Luke Fahey, 2026 Quarterback Recruit

Luke Fahey makes the trip with his high school teammate and wide receiver Vance Spafford (both are top four star recruits from California) in hopes to see if Ole Miss could be a good fit for him when he gets on campus in 2026. Fahey led his high school team to its first California state championship last fall and he's been a fast riser up recruiting boards ever since.

Fahey doesn't boast incredible size just yet, but he still has two more years to grow and develop. What he's flashed already has looked more than worthy of top notch four star recruit status. So much so that he racked up a quick dozen FBS scholarship offers this off-season as a sophomore in high school.

Ole Miss already has a few decent options to replace Jaxson Dart after he likely gets drafted early next spring in Walker Howard and multi-sport phenom Austin Simmons, but having a third name in the mix who could push to start over both would be incredible.
