3 players Eagles had to cut, but they will probably end up regretting it

The Philadelphia Eagles had some tough decisions to make this week as they trimmed their 90-man roster down to 53 .

Even some that were let go, the Eagles knew were talented but they couldn't fit them in their plans.

If the Eagles can't get them back on their practice squad, then those players could end up on other teams and ultimately make Philly regret their decision in the first place.

Here are three cuts the Eagles made that could come back to bite them.

    RB Kendall Milton

The Eagles' running back battle this offseason was a tough one but Kendall Milton fought hard and he did it very well.

Milton, who signed with the Birds as a UDFA following the 2024 NFL Draft, led the Eagles' backfield with 39 yards rushing yards on 9 carries in Week 1's preseason win over the Baltimore Ravens .

And then in Week 2 of NFL preseason, Milton ran in a touchdown to bring the Eagles back to life, setting them up for a successful two-point conversion to seal the victory over the New England Patriots . He also had one catch for 10 yards.

He topped off the season finale carrying the ball four times for eight yards.

Milton isn't the fastest back in camp, but he is great at blocking and moving the chains in short-yardage situations.

Another team will be lucky to have him.

    TE E.J. Jenkins

This one would have been a regret if the Eagles didn't pick him back up first thing Wednesday afternoon.

Second-year tight end E.J. Jenkins not only had a solid training camp but also put on a perfect preseason performance, reeling in nine receptions for 66 yards.

The Eagles opted to keep just two tight ends on their initially roster, leaving Jenkins to hit the waivers.

Thankfully, Jenkins was able to clear the waivers and the Eagles were able to bring him back.

    WR Joseph Ngata

Second-year wideout Joseph Ngata may have been a name that Eagles fans had forgotten about but not anymore following a strong training and preseason performance.

In the Eagles' preseason game against the New England Patriots, Ngata led all receivers with 88 yards on five catches. Ngata earned even special shout-out from Eagles' star wideout A.J. Brown for his overall performance in that game.

Ngata was unable to put on another show in the preseason finale, but an ankle injury he had been dealing with could have held him back.

Regardless, he was a sleeper throughout camp and if Brown saw his potential, another team will too.
