The New Orleans Saints have been hard at work in the front office over the past few days. Players and coaches returned to the practice field on Wednesday. There were some intriguing updates on injured players.

Marshon Lattimore returns to Saints practice

Lattimore headlines a group of notable players that returned on Wednesday for New Orleans. Along with the star cornerback, rookie DB Kool-Aid McKinstry, WR Rashid Shaheed, and rookie WR Mason Tipton all practiced during the portion open to the media.

As Triplett notes, it is unknown if any or all of those players took part in team drills. Regardless, it is a step in the right direction for some key parts of the Saints roster.

Lattimore is the team's top CB. With he and McKinstry healthy, the cornerback room is one of the most talented in the NFL.

As for Tipton, he made the roster as an undrafted free agent without playing a snap in the preseason. The staff clearly feels confident in his abilities for the offense and possible special teams, too. He was a camp star earlier in the offseason, and the staff apparently took note.

Shaheed is arguably the best downfield target on the entire Saints offensive unit. He and Derek Carr found some chemistry last season.

If all four players can be healthy for Week 1, the Saints would be in great shape against the Carolina Panthers.
