The Oklahoma Sooners have one of the most dynamic defenders in all of college football. Danny Stutsman is a guy who is looking to get drafted after this season, but first, he'd like to win a national championship. While Stutsman may come across as a stickler for the game -- all work no play, he has one of the kindest hearts you'll meet.

At Oklahoma, Stutsman has quickly established himself as a key defensive player. His freshman year in 2021 saw him play in ten games, recording 38 tackles. However, it was in 2022 that he truly made his mark, leading the Big 12 with 125 tackles, alongside three sacks, and two interceptions. His performance earned him recognition, including being named to the Lott IMPACT Trophy watch list and becoming a captain for the Sooners.

He's known for his emotional leadership, physicality, and instinctual play, especially in run defense. His ability to make plays sideline-to-sideline and his tackling efficiency are what stand out most about his game, though there's room for improvement in pass coverage. Even still, he's the best linebacker in the country.

In 2023, he was recognized as a Third Team AP All-American and First Team All-Big 12, underscoring his significant impact on the field. His decision to return for his senior season in 2024, despite being eligible for the NFL Draft, indicates his commitment to further development and potentially improving his draft stock.

And, sure, all that is great, but nothing beats being a great dude, and that's what Stutsman is, just ask the 18 walk-ons on the Oklahoma Sooners football team.

Recently, he gathered up $50 thousand of his own NIL money to spread equally to the 18 walk-ons on the team, while also giving them each a JBL care package. Things like that don't go unnoticed, just like he said the work the walk-ons are putting in doesn't go unnoticed.

Stutsman is just a great dude, and in return, he's finally getting some of the recognition he deserves.
