Ole Miss hit the ground running in a lopsided 76-0 win over Furman to kick off the college football season.

The Rebels offense looked pristine with quarterback Jaxson Dart putting up Heisman numbers against the Paladins. Dart finished the game completing 22-of-27 passes for 418 yards and six total touchdowns. In fact, Dart became the first SEC quarterback with over 250 passing yards since LSU's Joe Burrow did it in 2019.

While Dart certainly raised some eyebrows across the country, plenty of other Rebels contributed to this offensive explosion. Wide receiver Tre Harris picked up where he left off last season with eight catches for 179 yards and two scores. Juice Wells, Caden Prieskorn, and Cayden Lee each recorded 70+ receiving yards and a touchdown.

Lane Kiffin's group functioned as a well-oiled machine on Saturday finishing with 772 yards of total offense. It was the first time in 40 years that a college football team scored at least 75 points with over 750 yards of offense in a shutout win.

Nobody expected Furman to keep things close, but Ole Miss didn't mind. The Rebels flexed their muscles and introduced a few key newcomers in the dominant effort. Ole Miss will look to do it all over again next weekend with Middle Tennessee State making the trip down to Oxford.
