First week in the new SEC, and a Texas Longhorn took home one of the league’s weekly awards.

Right tackle Cam Williams was named the SEC’s co-offensive lineman of the week , the league announced Monday, along with Arkansas’ Fernando Carmona.

Williams graded out the highest among all UT offensive linemen and did not allow a sack or quarterback pressure in UT’s 52-0 win over Colorado State.

The offensive line paved the way for the Longhorns to tally 545 yards, including 190 on the ground. Quarterback Quinn Ewers completed 20 of 27 passes and found 10 different receivers as Texas built up a 31-0 halftime lead.

In total, five players scored their first touchdowns as Longhorns, including all three transfer receivers Matthew Golden, Isaiah Bond and Silas Bolden. Backup quarterback Arch Manning also thrilled the crowd by throwing for a touchdown and rushing for another.

Texas center Jake Majors thought the entire offensive line did well afterward. But offensive line coach Kyle Flood believes in making a major jump in improvement from week one to week two.

“Everybody can have one good game. Can you stack another game? Can you stack another game after that?,” senior center Jake Majors said. “After you have a good day, can you go to the next day and have an even better day and just keep stacking.”
