Minnesota Vikings announce multiple jersey number changes ahead of Week 1

The Minnesota Vikings have made multiple roster moves since the final preseason game against the Philadelphia Eagles. With those roster moves come changes with jersey numbers.

Those got announced on Monday afternoon with eight players seeing changes from the numbers they wore during training camp.

The following players saw their jersey number change.

• CB Stephon Gilmore: 32
• ILB Brian Asamoah II: 6
• K Will Reichard: 16
• CB Fabian Moreau: 23
• CB Nahshon Wright: 25
• S Theo Jackson: 26
• S Bobby McCain: 28
• CB Dwight McGlothern: 29

There are three newcomers to the team who also got their official jersey numbers.

• QB Brett Rypien: 19
• RB Zavier Scott: 36
• OL Ricky Lee III: 63

These will likely stay official for the Vikings throughout the season. The only likely way numbers will change is if a player is released and brought back after their number was taken by a different player.

The Vikings are set to kick off against the New York Giants on Sunday, September 8th at noon CST.
