Just before the start of last Saturday's rout of Western Kentucky, the Alabama Crimson Tide got bit hard by the injury bug.

Slated to start his sophomore season after earning All-SEC Freshman honors in 2023, LT Kadyn Proctor was unavailable once the ball was kicked off, a surprise to everyone, including Kalen DeBoer .

The HC recently discussed exactly why it happened:

    Proctor Dealing With Shoulder Injury

"Kadyn [Proctor] has a shoulder," said DeBoer in his USF preview presser. "A shoulder situation there. It's one that we will be able to manage. And so that's, a positive, and it was something as we go through the week, probably won't be something early on here we'll be rolling with, but as the week goes on, it's something we can continue to evaluate and can be helpful for when it comes to the offensive line and just, you know, the way they execute."

The prognosis is a positive one, especially after such a mysterious situation. To be pulled from pregame warmups is never a good sign, especially when your HC is caught off guard:

"Yeah, unfortunately, he did, said DeBoer when asked about Proctor sustaining an injury ahead of Saturday's game. "Just caught me by surprise, obviously. And you know, [Proctor] couldn't go tonight, and we'll continue to evaluate tomorrow, just to see the severity of it. And you know, we'll kind of know more here as the week goes on."

So we'll see if receive any more information regarding Proctor, the shoulder, and his status for Week 2, but the information is usually tight-lipped during the week in college, meaning Saturday night will likely be the next time we truly know how Proctor looks.
