Chiefs fans will be laughing at Ravens' Isaiah Likely's comments for weeks

The Kansas City Chiefs have this thing that they do where they make opposing teams make themselves look dumb if that makes sense. They make the other team talk trash, whether it be calling Arrowhead Stadium a different name or making fun of Patrick Mahomes, for some stupid reason, and then it ends up biting them in the butt.

This time, in the Chiefs 2024 season opener, where the Chiefs are trying to go for a three-peat, they are playing a team they played just two games ago, right before they won the Super Bowl over the San Francisco 49ers. The Baltimore Ravens came in talking trash. They came in saying they wanted to make Mahomes throw the ball as if that's a bad thing.

Then, after the game, they came into the press room talking all sorts of trash talk. Linebacker Roquan Smith even said he'd basically fight a Chiefs player that was inactive, and said that Mahomes flopped on the sideline, when he clearly hit him late. It's pretty wild, to say the least.

But, hey, it didn't stop there. The Ravens star of the night, tight end Isaiah Likely, who really played great, just couldn't stop making himself sound dumb in the post-game press conference.

”This is the worst we are going to play, I can promise you that," Likely said as if the Chiefs won't only get better as well. "So if that’s the best they have, good luck in the postseason."

Saying that to, not only the back-to-back Super Bowl champions but also the team that put you out of the playoffs, is kind of wild. Then, saying that like both teams didn't play badly and it's Week 1 for both teams, is a little silly. The Chiefs didn't have Hollywood Brown and Charles Omenihu, which will only make this team scarier.

With Brown, they will be able to stretch the field even more. With Omenihu, the Chiefs, outside of Chris Jones, struggled to get any pass rush going against the Ravens. And, when they did, they forced Lamar Jackson inside to run straight up the pocket.

It's only going to get scarier from here on out. What a loss for the Ravens and what a win for the Chiefs.
