LSU fan base growing concerned over the status of 5-star Tigers commit

LSU Tigers fans are understandably concerned about the status of 2025 five-star cornerback DJ Pickett.

Pickett, 6-foot-4/178 lbs from Tampa, FL, is rated by 247Sports as the No. 3 cornerback in the nation. He's been committed to LSU since mid July.

The coveted recruit, however, has continued to take visits despite being committed to LSU. Last weekend, Pickett was at Florida for the matchup between the Gators and the Miami Hurricanes.

This weekend, Pickett will see Miami in person again.

According to On3 , Pickett will visit Miami for their matchup against Florida A&M.

Pickett's father told On3 recently that his son is still firmly committed to LSU, though he added the caveat of "as of right now".

“As of right now still 1,000 percent committed to LSU," said Damien Pickett . "LSU hasn’t done anything to change that. We still have great talks with LSU. He chose LSU for a reason.”

It sounds like Pickett is still all-in on LSU for now. But all it takes is one great visit to another program to change a recruit's mind. And after LSU's disappointing season-opening loss, it wouldn't be a total shock if Pickett considers flipping his commitment to the U -- especially after Miami boat raced Florida in Gainesville last weekend.

For now, Pickett's interest in Miami is just something for LSU fans to monitor. But it might not take much for the coveted recruit to decide that Miami is a better fit than LSU.
