It's been a rough Monday morning for Baltimore Ravens tight end Isaiah Likely.

Not only did he miss the game-tying touchdown by the length of his big toe in yesterday's loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, but he made matters worse by making a salty, and frankly, dumb comment after the game .

” This is the worst we are going to play; I can promise you that," Likely said following the loss. "So, if that’s the best they have, good luck in the postseason."

Chiefs' safety Justin Reid, who had a nice performance in the game with nine total tackles, joined Kay Adams on the "Up & Adams" Show Friday morning and responded to Likely's postgame comment.

"Well, it's the first game of the season, I hope it's the worst game that anyone plays," Reid said. "Because if you're peaking right now, then that's bad news come playoff time. He had a good game himself, so credit to him. There are ways that we are going to improve. We're going to get Hollywood Brown back here in a couple of weeks. We're going to continue to tighten on the defensive side of the ball. And that Patrick Mahomes-Xavier Worthy connection is just going to get more and more special as we keep going. Not to mention that, after all the star power that happened, Travis Kelce - he didn't even have to be Travis Kelce the whole game. He had that one special play that help Pat get that all-time passing leader record, but he's going to show up in the season too. So, I don't see the Kansas City Chiefs being the same team that we were yesterday. I see us getting better as we keep going."

Reid does a nice job here of not getting sucked in to saying something snarky back at Likely. He gave a thoughtful, levelheaded response and backed it up with facts. The Chiefs know better than any other team in the NFL what it takes to continue to put the work in to improve and peak at the right time to make a championship run.

Likely was also caught cursing at Chiefs fans on his way off the field and into the tunnel. With that incident combined with his comment, hopefully Likely learns how to take a loss and just move forward. Emotions are high after a tough loss, but now what he accomplished during the game is overshadowed by his actions after the game.
