Friday injury report has surprise addition for Bills that clouds otherwise good news

The Buffalo Bills are largely in good shape heading into their first game, with a pair of notable names coming off the last injury report of the week. Unfortunately, there was a late addition, which might complicate matters.

First the good news. Wide receiver Curtis Samuel and backup quarterback Mitch Trubisky are officially off the injury report and ready to go on Sunday. Having a healthy wide receiver room is definitely a bonus, as Samuel figures to be heavily involved in the gameplan.

The safety position is also healthy, after all their issues throughout training camp and the preseason. Rookie Cole Bishop is off the injury report, joining Taylor Rapp, Damar Hamlin , Mike Edwards, and Cam Lewis as all five safeties on the roster are healthy.

Pass rush got a little more complicated, however. Rookie Javon Solomon has been trending towards not being able to play all week, but Dawuane Smoot popped up with a "Did Not Participate" on Friday with a toe injury, being listed as "questionable" for Sunday.

If Smoot is unable to go, that leaves Greg Rousseau and A.J. Epenesa with only two rotating options behind them in Von Miller and Casey Toohill. Miller obviously figures to play a good chunk of snaps, but Buffalo could be looking at Kameron Cline on their practice squad for a Saturday elevation to have added depth.

Aside from the depth at defensive end being a bit of a question, Buffalo is ready to rock for their home opener against the Arizona Cardinals. Game on.
