The New York Giants made plenty of headlines this offseason. They traded for Brian Burns. They drafted wide receiver Malik Nabers. They made widespread changes on their offensive line.

...And they let Saquon Barkley walk in free agency. He chose to join the division rival Philadelphia Eagles. It was a decision that was not looked at in a positive light by many Giants fans. Now, it has only gotten more difficult for them.

Barkley dominated in his first game with Philly. In their win on Friday night against the Green Bay Packers, Barkley looked explosive and shifty. He scored three touchdowns and ran like a man on a mission all night long.

The former Giants fan favorite totaled 132 total yards as the bell-cow RB for the Eagles. In 76 games with New York, Barkley had one game with three TDs. He accomplished that feat in his first performance for the Eagles.

Folks all across social media pointed and laughed at the G-men's choice to allow Barkley to hit the open market on Friday night. Their lack of an attempt to negotiate a new deal with Barkley has been well-documented all summer long.

Dallas Cowboys superstar Micah Parsons even made note of the choice by the Giants on X/Twitter. His sentiment was felt by many.

New York kicks off their 2024 season on Sunday, but they will be without one of the most dynamic running backs in football.

Barkley's electric performance in Week 1 before New York even touches the field was probably a difficult watch for fans of the giants.
