Steelers rookie will have to wait to show why he was a surprise addition to the roster after latest move

The Pittsburgh Steelers are less than 24 hours away from kicking off their 2024 season.

While the main concern revolves around Russell Wilson , one player we knew wouldn't be available all week is rookie DL Logan Lee.

The latest roster move from Pittsburgh ahead of the Atlanta Falcons game proves he will miss much longer:

    Logan Lee to I.R.

The team also placed rookie defensive lineman Logan Lee on the Reserve/Injured List.

Lee was one of the team's sixth-round draft picks in the 2024 NFL Draft. Lee, who played at Iowa, was selected with the 178th overall pick. - Teresa Varley, Steelers

Lee was a fairly surprising addition to the final 53-man roster when you consider he's had this injury for a while, and perhaps more importantly, was playing out of position all preseason.

He showed enough to the higher-ups in order to make the team, and his debut will have to wait.

    Ben Skowronek Elevated From P.S.

The Steelers elevated wide receiver Ben Skowronek from the practice squad to the Active/Inactive roster ahead of Sunday's regular season opener against the Atlanta Falcons.

Skowronek was originally drafted by the Los Angeles Rams in the seventh round of the 2021 NFL Draft, the 249th overall pick. He appeared in 45 games for the Rams, starting 12, while pulling in 58 receptions for 575 yards.

He was traded to the Houston Texans this offseason. - Teresa Varley, Steelers

Skowronek was arguably the best addition in terms of the practice squad, and with rookie WR Roman Wilson ruled out, his usage is needed on special teams and potentially as a depth piece.
