Minnesota Vikings' chances to win NFC North just improved after latest NFL news

The Minnesota Vikings have a difficult schedule in the first five weeks of the season and that might have gotten easier. The Vikings are set to play the Green Bay Packers in week four and they might not have to face quarterback Jordan Love.

After injuring his knee on the second to last play in Friday night's 34-29 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Sao Paolo, Brazil, Love was diagnosed with an MCL injury and could miss multiple weeks.

This is big news for the Packers, but it becomes important for the Vikings as well. If Love indeed misses at least three games, that would keep him out of their week four showdown with the Packers at Lambeau Field. Last season, the Vikings beat the Packers at Lambeau Field 24-10 and the game was never that close.

The Vikings currently have the worst odds to win the NFC North but those could shift if they find a way to win 3-4 games before their week six bye. Potentially not having to face the highest-paid quarterback in NFL history would bake that journey significantly easier.
