Miami Hurricanes head coach Mario Cristobal made quite the statement about former Tennessee Vols defensive lineman Tyler Baron on Saturday night after Miami's blowout win against Florida A&M.

Baron, who transferred to Miami after the 2023 season, had a huge game against Florida A&M, totaling five tackles (including 3.5 tackles for loss) and three sacks.

After the game, Cristobal told reporters that Baron is "built like an avatar".

"He is built like an avatar and he is explosive," said Cristobal when asked about Baron. "He has one of the most natural feels for the game of anyone I have seen. He understands leverage and angles. He is really smart. He is locked in and in tune with what is going on. He is always looking for ways to get better and he works hard. He is tough. He checks all the boxes. And now he is full throttle. He has shown everybody what he is about and he is another hungry human being."

Baron was a tremendous player for the Vols. And he certainly would've made Tennessee's already elite defensive line even better in 2024 (and even deeper). But he's getting to play in an expanded role at Miami, which will help elevate his NFL draft stock.
