Josh Allen's heroics come at a price that raises questions heading into short week against Miami Dolphins on TNF

Josh Allen might be Super Man, but he can still get hurt. Balancing what makes him special with keeping him healthy is a career-long battle.

In the Buffalo Bills' Week 1 victory over the Arizona Cardinals, Allen filled the stat sheet by completing 18/23 passes for 232 yards and two touchdowns, while also rushing nine times for 39 yards and two touchdowns on the ground. It's his dual-threat ability to singlehandedly beat a defense that makes him so special.

On his second rushing touchdown of the game, Allen put on his Super Man camp as he went over the top of Budda Baker.

It's incredible, it's inspiring, it gets his teammates and coaches and Bills fans alike fired up, but it also led to Allen ending the game banged up.

Allen landed on his left hand, and ended up having to have his hand and wrist taped up for the rest of the game.

We know that Allen is tough as nails, but it's never good to see your start quarterback with an injury, especially heading into a short week before a primetime matchup with a division rival.

"He's a competitor, and you never want anything to happen," head coach Sean McDermott said after the game. "There's a balance there, as always, like we talk about that a lot."

"There's always concern, anytime anybody's hurt, in this case, for sure Josh, so I'll know more again hopefully in the next couple of hours, and maybe even when I walk back through the hallway here, so there's always concern for sure," McDermott said when asked if there's concern about Allen on a short week.

It's what makes Allen so special, but it's also enough to make you hold your breath when you see him go over the top, or drop his shoulder into a defender.

We'll wait for more details on the injury, but with what a tough and gritty competitor Allen is, the concern is likely more about how any injury might limit him going into this game against Miami than it is about him playing or not.
