The New Iberia City Council allocated funds from the American Rescue Plan Act and put them towards a Business Development Grant program to award grants to businesses in underserved communities to facilitate growth and development in the City of New Iberia. The City of New Iberia has also allocated American Rescue Plan Act funds for the One Block at a Time: Blighted Property Program. The goal of this grant is to address the national objective of eliminating or preventing slums and blight.

Black bears are running rampant in Louisiana and another huge bear has been spotted in south Louisiana. In the social media group Louisiana Black Bear Report, Randy Bergeron posted photos of a huge black bear near a deer feeder, and by the looks of it, this bear has been eating well near Palmetto, Louisiana.

Chad Credeur, suspected in Lafayette triple murder, indicted by grand jury
LAFAYETTE, La. (KADN) — The man suspected in a triple murder has been indicted on three counts of first-degree murder by a Lafayette Parish grand jury.
