[UPDATE]
CLARK COUNTY, Wis. (WKBT) -- Bond is set at $1 million cash for an Abbotsford man accused of killing his daughters and attempting to kill his wife.
24-year-old Victor Manuel Gomez Acosta faces two counts of 1st degree intentional homicide and one count of attempted 1st degree intentional homicide.
According to the criminal complaint, Gomez Acosta is accused of stabbing his two daughters to death. Authorities were called to the scene of a mobile home park in Abbotsford early Friday morning where a woman reported being attacked by Gomez Acosta in her sleep. She received aid in a nearby mobile home and told police that her daughters were still inside their mobile home with Gomez Acosta.
"We were all sleeping and he stabbed me," she told police.
Authorities were eventually able to get Gomez Acosta out of the mobile home. He came out covered in blood on his stomach and hands and was holding a knife. He dropped it and police took him into custody.
The children were discovered in a bedroom, deceased. One child had 20 stab wounds to her chest, back, neck, left hand and left arm. The other had 16 stab wounds to the left side of the chest and one to the right side of her neck.
The children's mother was stabbed 17 times, one cutting her vocal cord and another very close to her jugular. She required surgery for these injuries.
Police discovered approximately 8 stab wounds on Gomez Acosta's chest area. Gomez Acosta claimed to police that "crazy guys stabbed him."
If convicted, he faces life in prison. His initial appearance is set for July 30.
