    PERMIAN BASIN (KMID/KPEJ) – Here are the top stories from around the Basin for the week ending on August 16.

    The Andrews Police Department has now identified the second driver of a vehicle believed to have been involved in a deadly hit and run crash earlier this week. No names have been released pending further processing and investigation as of Friday afternoon. You can learn more about the crash and the subsequent investigation here .

    Five million dollars was donated to South End Zone and Dustin R. Womble Football Center project, Texas Tech Athletics announced on Wednesday. This makes the second five-million-dollar donation by longtime supporter Mike Wallace, who was also a lead contributor in Texas Tech’s early fundraising efforts in early 2022.
