Cold Case: Odessa woman missing for nearly 42 years after going to apply for job

ODESSA, Texas (KMID/KPEJ) – Odessa Police Department is seeking information about a missing woman who was last seen at her home nearly 42 years ago.

On the evening of Monday, September 13, 1982, Jeannette Drzewiecki, a 19-year-old mother, left her 11-day-old baby at home to go apply for a job. Drzewiecki was never seen again. Her baby has since grown up and has a family of her own, but OPD said she never stopped wondering what happened to her mother that night, more than 42 years ago.

OPD’s Cold Case Detective recently sat down with “The Deck” podcase to discuss the decades-long investigation into Drzewiecki disappearance with the hope someone who knows something will finally come forward. Drzewiecki was also known as “Cherrie” to some. OPD said she was last seen wearing a shirt that said, “People in Odessa are living proof that there is life on other planets.” Drzewiecki is 5’8″ with brown hair and hazel eyes.
