CUMBERLAND COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) — Investigators could not find out what caused a home in Carlisle to catch fire Monday evening.

The fire was discovered by Carlisle Police who were patrolling in the area and saw a house on Lincoln Street on fire after 5:30 p.m., police said in a news release. The home had previously been condemned due to unlivable conditions.

The fire started in the ceiling area of a second floor rear bedroom, however investigators could not figure out what caused the fire, police said. Although the fire is not suspicious, police said

Multiple emergency crews including New Kingstown Fire Company, Carlisle Fire Rescue, and also Citizens Fire, were called and battled the house fire.
