A man in his 40s, who has yet to be publicly named, was camping in the park along with a group, had gone out onto the lake with two others on paddle boards. While they were out on the water, the wind picked up knocking all three of them into the lake. Two in the party were able to make it back to shore, the third man fell face down into the water.

A park ranger was on shore, and along with a bystander who offered their help, went out on a boat to assist.

They were able to pull the man aboard and began life-saving measures on the man, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
