Dry and seasonal conditions continue throughout Utah

SALT LAKE CITY ( ABC4 ) – Happy Wednesday, Utah! We started the work week with below-average temperatures and bounced right back to average on Tuesday.

Today, we will see similar conditions with highs back into the upper 80s in the North and the upper 90s in places like lower Washington County and Lake Powell.

Bottom Line? Drier conditions and seasonal daytime highs to continue through the end of the work week.

An incoming, weak cold front will graze Northern Utah, slightly flatten the high-pressure ridge in control, and lead to a slight dip in high temperatures for some tomorrow. This front is associated with another trough moving inland from the Pacific Northwest. The front is moisture-starved, so we won’t see storms, but we will see average highs of dip about five degrees on Thursday.

Another possible impact associated with this dry front clipping the state will be increased winds ahead of the front, and with an uptick in winds and dry fire fuels out there in late August, a few spots in the state could see elevated fire danger.

High pressure will then rebuild over the region by Friday and Saturday, potentially bringing moisture back into Utah by the latter half of the Labor Day weekend. There’s a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms in southern Utah on Friday through Labor Day, with moisture possibly pushing into central and northern Utah on Sunday and into Monday.

It’s still several days away, so make sure to stay tuned and rest assured, we will keep you #4Warned.
