    SUNY Canton adds to its NYS security guard training

    CANTON, N.Y. (WWTI) – Courses offered through SUNY Canton’s Center for Workforce, Community and Industry Partnerships has added new sections of its New York State security guard training, including pre-employment training, 90-day on-the-job training and annual in-service training.

    Upcoming sessions include:

    • The 8-hour pre-employment training will be offered from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 30, and Thursday, May 2, in Dana Hall Room 138.
    • The 8-hour in-service training will be offered from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 7, and Thursday, May 9, also in Dana Hall Room 138.

    Each training costs $75 per person, participants can register through SUNY Canton’s WCIP website .

    SUNY Canton Professor lends expertise on docuseries “Me Hereafter”

    Presenting the training sessions is Former University Police Chief Alan P. Mulkin. He is currently a lecturer for the Center for Criminal Justice, Intelligence and Cybersecurity and has almost 40 years of police experience and has worked for about 10 years in the security field.

    SUNY Canton offers this training as a community service outreach for local industries employing security guards. It will now offer training on a continual basis for both the fall and spring semesters. Special sessions will be available for companies looking to send five or more employees to the training sessions.
