    Hand in Hand daycare opens satellite center in Harrisville

    HARRISVILLE, N.Y. (WWTI) – Hand in Hand Early Childhood Center has opened a new campus in Harrisville as of Wednesday, April 24.

    The coordination between Hand in Hand, Harrisville Central School District, Development Authority of the North Country, Northern Border Regional Commission, and Lewis County Planning and Community Development Department has made the arrangement possible.

    The daycare center was given $2.9 million the Northern Border Regional Commission for adding two classrooms to the Lowville Hand in Hand center and to create two satellite centers. The satellite centers were to be located at Harrisville Central School District and South Lewis Central School District, on opposite ends of the County.

    Each satellite center would provide approximately 32 childcare slots for ages infant to five years old The Lowville expansion would add up to 24 childcare slots to the current center with a waiting list of approximately 75 children.
