    May 25: Exploring Fort Drum Birds

    Fort Drum Biologists and the University of Maine’s Vermivora Field Crew will be Exploring Fort Drum on Saturday, May 25, starting at 7 a.m. and attendees will meet at Fort Drum’s Natural Resources Outreach Facility.

    You can join the morning field trip and venture into Fort Drum’s expansive and dynamic breeding bird habitats. This trip will delve into Fort Drum’s breeding bird diversity and ongoing research efforts focused on Golden-winged and Blue-winged Warbler hybridization.

    Attendees are advised to Bring/Prepare for:

    • Prepare for the possibility of ticks and other biting insects;
    • Binoculars for birdwatching;
    • Comfortable walking shoes;
    • Weather-appropriate clothing; and
    • Camera.
