SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — The Syracuse Airport and Allegiant Air have announced that they will be expanding their seasonal nonstop service from Syracuse Hancock International Airport (SYR) directly to Myrtle Beach International Airport (MYR).

The twice-weekly service is set to begin March 6 next year — almost three months
    earlier than in previous years.

The flights are scheduled for Sundays and Thursdays and will get travelers to Myrtle Beach in under two hours.

Syracuse Regional Airport Authority says the flights will run from March through May which lines with Myrtle Beach’s spring golf schedule.

“We greatly appreciate our partner Allegiant recognizing and accommodating the springtime
demand for nonstop service to Myrtle Beach,” said SRAA Executive Director Jason Terreri. “We
can see the uptick in people traveling to Myrtle Beach during that March through May timeframe each year. This expansion of Allegiant’s nonstop schedule gives our travelers a much more convenient option to do so quickly and easily.”
