North Carolina man arrested for having a rifle in his truck near the NYS Fairgrounds

GEDDES, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — A 34-year-old man from North Carolina was arrested on Saturday, August 24, near the New York State Fairgrounds for having an AR-15 rifle and a 30-round magazine in his truck.

New York State Police say Troopers saw the man, Curtis Young, acting suspiciously after he took the exit ramp from I-690 at State Fair Boulevard.

Troopers talked to Young, and he admitted that he had the gun and magazine in the cab of his truck, NYSP said.

He was charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the third-degree, a Class D Felony. Young was processed and transported to the Onondaga County Justice Center for CAP court arraignment.
