Fix the crumby summer cravings with a sweet treat.

Just this month, Abilene opened two new cookie businesses: Dirty Dough and Tiff's Treats.

    Dirty Dough

Dirty Dough Cookies, owned by Jim and Tritia Silva, had a soft opening for their franchise location, 4464 Buffalo Gap Road, on July 17.

Dirty Dough offers a rotating menu of stuffed cookies, along with its staple classic flavors. Weekly flavors change every Friday.

Cookies were not always in the cards. Tritia previously worked as a science teacher, and Jim flew aircraft at Dyess Air Force Base.

But when working as a pilot with Southwest Airlines, Jim came across Dirty Dough in Oklahoma City and brought home a dozen for his family.

They were hooked, and now the business is a Silva family affair.

The two eldest kids work in the kitchen as employees, and the two young siblings help fold boxes and represent the business as brand ambassadors.

Since their soft opening, they have had steady business in spite of not making an official announcement and sold out of several flavors by close of business Sunday night, Tritia said.

Orders for pick-up, delivery and catering can be placed in person, online or on the Dirty Dough app. Store hours are 8 a.m.-9 p.m. Sunday-Wednesday and 8 a.m.-11 p.m. Thursday-Saturday.

    Tiff's Treats

As of July 18, Tiff's Treats launched a delivery-only outpost in Abilene to serve cookie lovers, celebrate special occasions and spread cookie kindness.

The menu includes classic cookie favorites, as well as a rotating flavor of the month. In honor of the business's 25th anniversary, Abilene's location is offering a new cookie flavor, Birthday Confetti with white chocolate chips and rainbow sprinkles.

"We are beyond excited to introduce Tiff’s Treats to Abilene," Tiffany Chen, co-founder and chief creative officer of Tiff’s Treats, stated in a press release.

“We look forward to introducing the West Texans to Texas’s favorite birthday gift and being a resource for reliable, personal and affordable gifting through sweet treats, whether it’s a major milestone or a treat yourself occasion," Chen stated.

Delivery is available 10 a.m.-11 p.m. Monday to Sunday. Orders can be placed through cookiedelivery.com , the Tiff’s Treats mobile app, DoorDash and Uber Eats.
