The United Athletic Conference (UAC) hosted its annual media day on Tuesday, July 22 in Arlington.

Texoma had local representation at the event, as former Iowa Park Hawk Cirby Coheley attended on behalf of his football team at Abilene Christian.

Coheley is entering his third season with the Wildcats, stepping into a featured role after developing into one of ACU’s best linebackers. He finished last season ranked top three in the conference in both interceptions (3) and sacks (5.5).

“ACU has been great to me,” Coheley said. ” The transition from freshman to sophomore and sophomore to junior and so on has been really smooth.”

“I really feel confident with Cirby, Izaiah and Elijah,” Wildcats head coach Keith Patterson said. “You have to be strong up the middle of your defense and I think we are.”

Coheley is one of five Wildcat football players named to the preseason all-conference team.
