    2 arrested, 59+ pounds of meth seized in Washington County, Va. investigation

    WASHINGTON COUNTY, Va. (WJHL) — Two men were arrested on drug charges in Washington County, Virginia after police reportedly seized more than 59 pounds of methamphetamine.

    According to the Washington County, Virginia Sheriff’s Office (WCSO), two search warrants were executed on Wednesday as part of an extensive drug investigation.

    Authorities first searched a vehicle on Interstate 81, which resulted in a traffic stop. While searching the vehicle, investigators reportedly found and seized roughly four pounds of meth, which the WCSO estimated had a street value of more than $65,000.

    The search of the vehicle also uncovered about one ounce of fentanyl, a news release from the WCSO states.

    Tyrone Robert Irving, 45, of Roanoke, was arrested and charged with multiple drug charges following the search of the vehicle.

    The WCSO executed the second search warrant at a home in Abingdon. Investigators reportedly found methamphetamine, fentanyl and a firearm while searching the home, all of which were seized.

    Brack Dalton Widener, 29, of Abingdon was arrested following the search of the home on various drug and weapon charges.

    Additionally, the WCSO stated that more search warrants were obtained for a home and storage locker in Roanoke and Salem, Virginia. Searches of those locations resulted in authorities seizing 59 pounds of meth with a street value of $1.9 million.

    Irving was charged with the following:

    • Possession with Intent to Distribute of a Schedule I or II Controlled Substance, Methamphetamine – continuing criminal enterprise
    • Conspiracy with Intent to Distribute of a Schedule I or II Controlled Substance, Methamphetamine – continuing criminal enterprise
    • Possession with Intent to Distribute of a Schedule I or II Controlled Substance, Fentanyl
    • Possession with Intent to commit act of terrorism possess a weapon of terrorism, Controlled Substance, Fentanyl

    Widener was charged with the following:

    • Possession of firearms while in possession of Schedule I or II Controlled Substances
    • Possession of a Schedule I or II Controlled Substance, Methamphetamine
    • Possession of a Schedule I or II Controlled Substance, Fentanyl
    • Possession of firearms by convicted felon

    Both Irving and Widener were being held without bond at the Southwest Virginia Regional Jail as of Thursday morning.
