Tuesday night the Select Board discussed the town’s lease with the Reading Ice Arena Authority. 2nd Annual Children’s Fishing Rodeo Held at Somerville Moose Lodge
Somerville Moose Lodge Moose Legion Committee sponsored the 2nd Annual Children’s Fishing Rodeo on Saturday, June 29th at the Moose Lodge lake. Thirteen boys and girls had lots of fun with their parents as they cast their hooks for the First Fish Caught, the Biggest Fish, the Most Fish, the Smallest Fish and the Last Fish Caught in two age groups. Medallions were awarded to the winners in each category. Gift certificates and fishing tackle were given out as “door prizes.” Children, parents, and Moose volunteers were treated to burgers, hotdogs, chips, and plenty of cold water throughout the day.

The Wilmington 9U Bay State baseball team defeated the Reading Red team last night at Boutwell Field, 8-7. It was Reading’s first loss of the season. Reading unified basketball program keeps growing
In the spring of 2023, Reading High officially started a unified basketball program. Unified Sports joins people with and without intellectual disabilities on the same team. It was inspired by a simple principle: training together and playing together is a quick path to friendship and understanding. According to Special Olympics, in Unified Sports, teams are made up of people of similar age and ability. That makes practices more fun and games more challenging and exciting for all. Connor Madden’s gem sends Hudson Post 100 to Zone 4 championship series
HUDSON – Hudson’s lead was incredibly narrow, but with Connor Madden on the bump, it remained remarkably safe. No. 3 Hudson Post 100 scored early against No. 2 Milford Post 59 during the American Legion Zone 4 semifinal game on Saturday night at Guidotti Field, but after pulling ahead 1-0, couldn’t produce any additional offense. It was Madden – a right-handed pitcher and 2023 graduate of Hudson High School – who proved to be the hero, shutting down Milford, maintaining Post 100’s one-run lead, and ultimately sending Hudson to the Zone 4 finals, which will be played throughout the next week.
