Inmate who died inside Cass County Jail identified
CASS COUNTY, N.D. (Valley News Live) - An investigation is underway after the death of a female inmate at the Cass County Jail Monday night. The Cass County Sheriffs Office says a deputy was conducting checks around 11:30 p.m. July 15 when they noticed an unresponsive inmate. That woman has been identified as 37-year-old Alexis Beryl Phillips of Ogema, Minnesota. She had been incarcerated since July 12th, 2024.

Gearing Up For Mosquito Spraying Tuesday in Grand Forks & East Grand Forks
GRAND FORKS, N.D. (KVRR) — Grand Forks and East Grand Forks are both gearing up to take on more mosquitoes. It comes after West Nile virus was identified in the region. Spraying for mosquitoes is set to happen Tuesday night between 8 p.m. and 1 a.m. if conditions are right.

OVERNIGHT: Monday afternoon brought much-needed relief from this past weekend’s heat and storms, as we saw highs in the upper-70s, thanks to breezy north-northwesterly winds, and mostly sunny skies. Overnight, a few more clouds move through, and a few rain showers will push through eastern ND and a few areas in western MN. Not much rain is expected from those showers, though, and aside from that, skies will be partly clear. By morning, the best chance for rain will be in southeastern ND.
