The program matches first through fourth-grade students with screened, trained volunteer mentors to share one lunch break each week during the school year. Lunch Buddies has improved participating students’ self-esteem, attitude, and school attendance.

Pickup destroyed by fire in south Fargo
FARGO (KFGO) – A man using a grinder in the box of his pickup started the vehicle on fire shortly before 9 a.m. Monday in Fargo. The pickup was destroyed. The blaze was outside a storage unit in the 2300 block of 25th St. S. The initial call was for a structure fire. Black smoke could be seen for some distance. Firefighters were forced to remove part of a wooden fence to get to the pickup.
Man injured in early morning assault in downtown Fargo
FARGO, N.D. (Valley News Live) - A man was seriously injured after he says he was attacked in Downtown Fargo Monday morning. The Fargo Police Department says they were called to the NP Avenue Bridge and 2nd Street around 3:13 a.m. August 19, for a report of an assault. Police say when they arrived a man told officers that a dog had attacked his dog when an argument ensued with the owner of the other dog. The victim told police the dog’s owner and three other’s then attacked him.

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (Valley News Live) - Calvin, ND native Simon Romfo has won the quarterback competition at North Dakota, according to the UND Fall Prospectus released Monday.
