Two Calhoun school employees indicted for alleged inappropriate relations with students
CALHOUN, Ga. — Two former Calhoun City School District employees have been indicted for allegedly having inappropriate relations with students. According to court documents, Railey Greeson was indicted Thursday on two counts of sexual contact by employee or agent in the first degree for having sex with two different male students between October 2021 and January 2022. Brooklyn Shuler was indicted on one count of the same charge for having sex with a different male student between October 2021 and January 2022.
14 Arrested in Northwest Georgia Human Trafficking Operation
Police arrested 14 people in a multi-agency investigation targeting sex traffickers and sex buyers in Northwest Georgia. The GBI’s Human Exploitation and Trafficking Unit (HEAT), the Bartow County Sheriff’s Office Special Operations & Criminal Investigation Division, the Cartersville Police Department, the Polk County Police Department, and the Bartow County Sheriff’s Office coordinated the operation. Police offered resources to 9 sex workers.
Arrest report for July 2nd
A 56-year-old Rome woman was arrested for assault on Monday. According to Floyd County Jail records Linda Lee Thomas allegedly threatened to kill a victim after hitting them multiple times and shoving them at her residence on Nan Lee Drive. The Floyd County Police Department arrested Thomas for felony terroristic threats and acts and simple assault family violence.

The Rome Police Department will place barricades and directional cones in areas along Riverside Parkway to assist with traffic direction while entering and exiting Ridge Ferry Park on July 4, 2024.
