Although a 46-story residential tower planned for Seattle’s Pike Place Market area has finally secured its master-use permit, the project is on hold indefinitely. According to a report from the Puget Sound Business Journal, Kevin Corbett, CEO of developer Plus Investment (USA), has cited rising crime concerns as a public safety issue that prevents the project from moving forward. In contrast, the national rate has climbed to 4.1%, the highest level seen in nearly three years, according to data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS).
