The Houston Rockets (41-41) made some major improvements and became a respectable team last season and just missed out on being in a play-in game. If leading scorer and leading rebounder Alperen Sengun would not have missed 19 games to injury, then the Rockets would have qualified for the NBA Playoffs in the Western Conference.

Making the playoffs is the goal for this season. Plus, Houston will be adding a high draft pick to this roster for the upcoming season.

    Round 1, Pick 3: Reed Sheppard - G - Kentucky. 6'3", 187 lbs (12.5 ppg, 4.1 rpg, 4.5 apg, 2.5 spg, 52.1% 3-PT FG%).

That three-point shooting percentage is not a misprint. Sheppard had an unreal college season where he kept climbing up the draft boards. His shooting ability along with his defensive pressure on the ball ensures that he will see plenty of playing time off of the bench at point guard.

Overview: The most pressing issue for the Rockets was to find depth at point guard. Sheppard fits the bill along with bringing some extra change.

    Grade: A.
