ADRIAN — Race Street and a portion of the Kiwanis Trail in Adrian will be closed off to the public during the afternoon and evening hours on Friday, July 5, as the city of Adrian prepares to light up the downtown sky with a First Fridays fireworks show sponsored by TLC Community Credit Union.

Downtown streets will be closed from 2:30 p.m. Friday until approximately 9:30 p.m., a news release from the city of Adrian said, as Adrian celebrates its brand-new fireworks display and “Big Wheels” for July’s monthly edition of First Fridays.

People are encouraged to bring their blankets and lawn chairs to Comstock Park, 263 W. Maumee St., at the corner of Church and West Maumee streets, where they will be able to best view the fireworks show that will begin at dusk.

DJ John Hess will be stationed at Comstock Park to keep guests dancing from 7 to 10:30 p.m.
