Hot time in town Saturday
Despite being a cool summer day, the Gettysburg Volunteer Fire Department helped put on the hottest party in town on Saturday. They were a key part of the success to the car show in the city park. They served up food and beverages throughout the day, then followed it by showing their precision skills during water fights that focus on moving a barrel hung on a cable. Youngsters in the crowd also got a chance to try that with the help of the volunteer firefighters. The evening was topped off with live music for the firemen’s ball held in the park. The firefighters also set off the spectacular fireworks display at the park that was seen all across town. The fireworks were provided and funded through donations made by area businesses, community members, and the DJ Fischer Foundation.
